Applicants

All applications are processed via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), as part of the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC). To begin the process of applying to our program, please visit the AAMC ERAS web site to obtain an Applicant Information Sheet (AIS).

Our qualifications include the following:

• US MD candidate or IMG candidates.

• Must have both a USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 CK.

• CV and 3 letters of recommendation; two of them must be from EM faculty (SLOE format preferred).

• Be able to interview Spanish-speaking patients. Bilingual (English/Spanish) status mandatory for consideration.

• Be a candidate that is receptive to feedback and always looking for ways to improve as a healthcare professional.

• Long term goal to work in a US safety-net hospital setting or in Puerto Rico.

Our Interview sessions are structured in the following way:

• Interviews will be conducted via in-person and by video conference if unable to participate in person.

• Interview days will be held on Thursdays, from 8:00am - 12:00pm AST

• Students will be interviewed by EM Faculty, Chief Residents and Senior Residents.  

• After the interview, the candidates will be provide with a tour of the ER and hospital facilities.

• Additional activities such as virtual socials, meet and greets, second looks will be announced both prior and after interview sessions.
