Life in Puerto Rico
Our Residency program is in the city of Ponce, PR. Known as the “Pearl of the South.” Ponce serves as the gateway of the South, with a well preserved old Downtown area filled with grand mansions, buildings constructed in unique Ponce Creole architectural style and museums such as the Ponce Art Museum, filled with a world-class collection of both European and Puerto Rican art. Ponce is also known for its wide selection of restaurants and bars that offer unique concepts of local mixology and cuisine. If you wish to explore beyond the city limits, you can travel to the Guánica Dry Forest, a UN Biosphere Reserve since 1981, visit the idyllic seaside town of La Parguera, where you can swim in one of the bests bioluminescent bays on the Caribbean, or venture to La Playuela in Cabo Rojo, considered one the best beaches in all PR, filled with nature trails and aquatic activities. Want to explore the colonial past of PR? Travel to San Juan, the island’s capital. Located 1.5 hours from Ponce via highway, explore its famous streets, churches, and the San Juan National Historic Site, an UNESCO World Heritage site.
